Testimony of Shilat Ozeri:
My name is Shilat, I am 20 years old and I am the granddaughter of Moshe and Rumye Shuker.
My grandfather's little brother, Hanania Avraham, was kidnapped when he was two years old. He was kidnapped before they immigrated to Israel in 1949, in an immigrant camp in the city of Aden, Yemen. Israeli State representatives arrived at the camp and decided that the child had a contagious disease, and that he should be taken. After a while, they arrived again and informed the family that the child had died. Attached is a detailed testimony of my Grandpa on video.
I am currently studying for a psychometric test, in preparation for law school.
The reason I chose law is my desire to become a lawyer and through that, to bring justice to the kidnapping case, for my grandparents and for all the families, from whom children were kidnapped.
One of the situations that greatly affected me was about two and a half years ago, when Nitzan Horowitz, who was then the Minister of Health, announced that he did not approve of the publication of the report of the Ministry's Committee to Eradicate Racism on the subject of involvement of medical teams in the disappearance of children from Yemen, Eastern and Balkan countries, and that he rejected the committee's recommendations.
This was a breaking point for me, where I realized that they are continuing ignore us with disdain, and that they are legitimating the continuation of racism.
That's when I decided that I wanted to study law, and try to do everything I could to bring justice.
