Zohara and Joseph Elbaz

The story took place in 1958 in the Safed hospital. The parents lived in a transit camp in Kiryat Shmona, it was a normal pregnancy with no problems, the weather was hot (no exact memory of what month). It was a regular birth, the baby was heard crying and congratulations were said. The mother was shown a baby full of life. The next day the doctor arrived with a sedative injection and told her that the baby had died. With her in the room were two other mothers who were informed of the same thing. After giving all three injections they were taken to the basement so that they would not make any noise. No documents were issued and they were sent home crying.
